چکیده

The purpose of this study was to determine the seropositivity circulating viral pathogens and their association with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) seropositivity. In a cross-sectional design, inhabitants (aged 10–60 years) slum surrounding non-slum areas Dhaka Chattogram Metropolitan cities in Bangladesh were enrolled from October 2020 February 2021. Antibodies SARS-CoV-2, influenza B, parainfluenza, syncytial virus (RSV), human HKU1 (HCoV-HKU1), dengue chikungunya viruses determined plasma. SARS-CoV-2 other assessed using multi-variate logistic regression model. Seroprevalence RSV, dengue, chikungunya, HCoV-HKU1 parainfluenza 68.3%, 98%, 50.0%, 16.5%, 15.5%, 3.36% 0.0%, respectively. Individuals seropositive for RSV had lower odds (OR = 0.60; 95% CI= 0.49, 0.73) compared RSV-seronegative individuals. Conversely, higher observed participants (OR= 1.73; CI 1.14, 2.66, only slum) or 1.48; 1.11, 1.95) seronegative counterparts. findings indicated that exposure vector-borne enhance, while antibodies decrease, serological response SARS-CoV-2.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome–associated Coronavirus Infection

Whether severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) infection can be asymptomatic is unclear. We examined the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV among 674 healthcare workers from a hospital in which a SARS outbreak had occurred. A total of 353 (52%) experienced mild self-limiting illnesses, and 321 (48%) were asymptomatic throughout the course of these observations. None of thes...

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus and viral mimicry.

Sir—Viruses have evolved various strategies to counteract host-cell processes, notably our immune responses toward their invasion. Oleszak and colleagues reported that the spike proteins of coronaviruses, particularly the mouse hepatitis virus, bovine coronavirus, and transmissible gastroenteritis virus, display Fc gamma receptor activity. Such molecular mimicry of components of our own immune ...

Protease-mediated enhancement of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus infection.

A unique coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus (SARS-CoV) was revealed to be a causative agent of a life-threatening SARS. Although this virus grows in a variety of tissues that express its receptor, the mechanism of the severe respiratory illness caused by this virus is not well understood. Here, we report a possible mechanism for the extensive damage seen in the major targ...

Mannose-binding lectin in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus infection.

Little is known about the innate immune response to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus (CoV) infection. Mannose-binding lectin (MBL), a key molecule in innate immunity, functions as an ante-antibody before the specific antibody response. Here, we describe a case-control study that included 569 patients with SARS and 1188 control subjects and used in vitro assays to investigate...

Asymptomatic Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome–associated Coronavirus Infection

total of 1,732 cases were confirmed; 381 case-patients were healthcare workers and medical students. Clinical features, treatment protocols, and outcomes have been previously reported by various local experts (1–3). The etiologic agent is a SARS-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) (1). However, no asymptomatic case of SARS-CoV infection has been previously reported (4). In addition, in Hong Kong,...
